Yarra Ranges Council has been a key partner in the Yarra4Life program. The Council was a founding partner of Yarra4Life in 2004 - along with Port Phillip and Westernport CMA, Greening Australia Victoria, Melbourne Water and Yarra Valley Water.

Yarra Ranges Council has contributed both in-kind and financially to the Yarra4Life program including council staff contributions of time and resources to the Yarra4Life program, its coordination, planning, design, budgeting and implementation, since Yarra4Life was created.

The Council has provided an annual contribution of $10,000 to co-fund the Yarra4Life Coordinator position, plus $36,000 for 9,000 Ribbons of Green plants during 2008-2009.

The Ribbons of Green program, funds the supply of indigenous plants for landowners to offset the Shire’s vehicle fleet emissions, while improving biodiversity in the region.
