The Food for Trees partnership was launched in February 2008 and celebrates the Melbourne food industry's commitment to the environment through investment in Yarra4Life. Food for Trees support of Yarra4Life is ongoing and we welcome their support and contribution to the environment.
Food for Trees has attracted funding from food and wine industry businesses throughout Melbourne to revegetate part of the Yarra Valley, an important economic and produce area, while also providing carbon capture benefits to the businesses involved.
The partnership provides those restaurant owners invested in the project the opportunity to 'sell' their businesses as having a serious commitment to the environment.
Some of these establishments include De Bortoli's Winery in the Yarra Valley and Soul Mamas and Grossi Florentini's in Bourke Street Melbourne, where the launch of the event occurred.
The Food for Trees business model works for the restaurant industry and can equally apply to other outlet based industries
Yarra4Life is proud to have an ongoing partnership with Food for Trees.
